Free!!! Tour of the Brodhead Armory
May 11th, 1999 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm
Detroit's largest collection of WPA artwork is housed in this historic (1930)
building. The Brodhead Armory was designed by Detroit architect William "Buck"
Stratton. Visit a unique collection of frescos, wood carvings and Detroit Navel
history. You'll have the opportunity to donate toward the restoration of the
Brodhead Armory and its artwork collection.
Tours will last approximately 40 minutes. We apologize that this tour is not
handicap accessible. Several sets of stairs must be negotiated to reach the artwork.
Located at 7600 East Jefferson, just past the Belle Isle Bridge, look for the
Marine Corps Reserve Center sign on the building. Parking is available on the
west side of the armory.
