On Monday, March 11, the Detroit Area Art Deco Society held its annual meeting. Taking place at the Birmingham Community House for the second year in a row, the meeting was the official farewell to longtime co-presidents Kim Zuccarini and Jacques Caussin, and the beginning of the co-presidency of David Klein and Kate Ostrove.
Once the official business had been taken care of, the festivities began. It being a Deco gathering, Deco items were on display. Many attendees picked the brains of the assembled Deco lovers in a "Show and Tell" reminiscent of elementary school, but with a twist: the owner showed everybody their item, and the Deco experts in the crowd told the owners what it was and how much it was worth.
Fun was had by all, and the proceedings were even graced by the presence of Rebecca Binno, she of preservation fame, and currently of New York City. She updated her friends and former colleagues on her educational status and preservation efforts in the Big Apple.
