Dear Members:This is a very exciting time of year for DAADS and a very exciting issue of The Modern! Michigan Modernism is just around the corner, and the Modernism Steering Committee guarantees the Gala Preview Party to be the hottest night of the year! Don’t miss it! The Planning Subcommittee, established last fall, has completed the very difficult task of preparing a new and updated set of Bylaws for DAADS, as well as revising the Mission Statement.
In addition, they have established a fantastic Calendar of Events for 1998 which includes many wonderful events, lectures, and tours to take place this year. See page 3 for a listing.
This dedicated group volunteered their time, meeting at night several times a month over the last four months to complete these projects. Sincere thanks and appreciation go to this group for their dedicated efforts: Rebecca Binno, Darlene Carroll, Ann Duke, Frank Edwards, Bob and Kathy King, Kate Ostrove, and Ann Williams.
DAADS has lots of great things planned for 1998, and the Board of Directors has been hard at work to make this an organization you will be excited to be a part of! We hope to provide you with many opportunities to learn more about the art deco period of design as well as specific areas you are interested in.
