We road-tripped down the flatlands of Ohio to Cincinnati on January 5-8th, 1999 to enjoy a weekend devoted to deco. DAADS President Robin Cohen arranged this successful trip, and we all had a wonderful weekend. We stayed at what is probably the nation's masterpiece of French Art Deco, the Netherlands Hotel. Detroit deco fans then spent lots of money at the Modernism show and auction held in the Cincinnati Union Terminal. The highlight of our trip was a "Behind the Scenes" tour of the Union Terminal that took us to the newly restored areas not yet open to the public as well as to the roof and mechanical systems of the building. It was a weekend to remember.
