A collection of Elayne Gross's creative photography was on exhibit at The Art Exchange Gallery/ Museum located at 2966 Woodward Avenue in Detroit. The exhibit was titled "The Art of Celebration: Black and White Wedding Photography."
A number of DAADS members were among the guests who attended the opening reception on Sunday, July 31. Dozens of Elayne's wedding photographs, taken during the first ten years of her career, lined the walls of the second floor gallery. The selections documented weddings in and around the Detroit area and are considered some of Elayne's favorites.
Four members of the City Wide Poets treated the guests to a special poetry presentation. LaToya Summers, LaToya Williams, Danielle White and Kiarra Whitelow each chose a favorite photograph and wrote poetry to reflect the feelings stimulated by their selected favorites. Each student read their poems with strong emotion and conviction to a pleased audience.
